It's also a very open-ended game having some deep side quests that could be ignored completely and still see you finish the game, but where the rewards are very valuable. And yet they do a good job intertwining them and the stories that occur across each one. Each time period has its own unique characters and unique problems. ![]() There's very little waste of time or wasted space or low value exploration. For one each chapter is very distinct and narratively pretty tight. There's a few things that set it apart from other RPGs for me. It's also a game I replay every couple years as well. I doubt I'll have a year quite as packed as this one any time soon, so it was a nice treat that this list ended up being so extensive. This was a fun list to put together and I'm looking forward to sharing it 2022 was also the year I joined this sub, and finally started to feel more secure with how I consume and experience games. Note that this list is sorted purely on my own subjective enjoyment of these games, and not necessarily what each game accomplished or how well it was received (for instance, Disco Elysium is a work of art that I just didn't connect with in the way I wanted to). Neverwinter Nights (plus Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark)įortunately I lucked out this year considering that C tier ended up being my lowest. ![]()
